TITAL one of the first companies to use digital radiography for quality checks

The titanium and aluminum investment casting specialist TITAL is the first European supplier in the aviation and aerospace industry allowed to use digital radiography as a certified method of quality testing. The company based in Bestwig passed the process audit for digital radiography according to Nadcap checklist AC 7114/6 without a single NCR (non-conformity reports). The aviation supplier was certified by the Nadcap National Aerospace and Defence Contractors Accreditation Program. YXLON, the manufacturer of the digital radiography line is one of the worldwide leading suppliers of industrial radiographic testing systems and CT (Computed tomographic) solutions for non-destructive material testing (NDT).

“The audit passed smoothly and rapidly without any difficulties. The responsible contacts from YXLON who offered their support prior to the audit and our colleagues involved in the audit process at TITAL did a first-class job” stated Frank Schulte of the Quality Management at TITAL, who is very proud about the successful certification that makes TITAL one of the first companies in Europe able to use digital radioscopy. TITAL benefitted specifically from a new version of radioscopy analysis software Y.IMAGE3500 chosen to upgrade YXLON's digital radioscopy system Y.MU2000-D. The new software was developed by YXLON engineers and responsible testers directly on site in order to guarantee optimum user friendliness.

For TITAL this certification means a further step to fulfill the high quality requirements of their customers especially in the aviation and aerospace industry and to further optimize the standards of the investment casting specialist. “TITAL will further invest in digital radioscopy and other progressive methods of quality testing”, stated Managing Director Philipp Schack, confirming TITAL's commitment to its own high quality standards.
