Shadin Avionics uses Holt's MIL-STD-1553 terminal IC solution in TSO certified avionics interface system

Holt Integrated Circuits today announced that Shadin Avionics selected its MIL-STD-1553 BC/MT/RT terminal IC, HI-6131PCTF, and stacked dual core isolation transformer, PM-DB2762, for use in their TSO Certified Avionics Interface System, AIS-460. Shadin Avionics AIS-460 converts MIL-STD-1553 to ARINC 429 and other avionics signals.

Holt's HI-6131PCTF terminal IC integrates logic, memory and analog transceivers to result in the world's smallest, complete 3.3V BC/MT/RT solution. Key features include concurrent operation for up to four terminals (Bus Controller, Monitor Terminal and one or two Remote Terminals), 64K bytes of internal static RAM with optional error detection/correction, a fully programmable Bus Controller and serial peripheral host interface (SPI). The compact SPI interface was one of the primary factors in Shadin Avionics selection criteria. The enabled terminals communicate with the MIL-STD-1553 buses through the on-chip dual transceiver and external dual transformer, PM-DB2762, also supplied by Holt.
