Low cost, high performance micro emulsion

23/12/2013

Press releaseIssued by Master Fluid Solutions WDG GmbH and published as received — not written by Airframer’s editors.

For high performance machining applications in the aerospace industry, TRIM® MicroSol® 585XT has become a best-seller for Master Chemical Europe. This semi-synthetic micro emulsion provides outstanding lubricity to maximise tool life without compromising parts quality. And it is to extend the benefit of this type of formulation to a wider market that Master Chemical Europe has now introduced TRIM® MicroSol® 515.

Based heavily on the proven TRIM® MicroSol® 585XT formula, this new commercial product inherits all characteristics of its forerunner without the premium aerospace performance. TRIM® MicroSol® 515 too provides excellent lubrication without chlorinated or sulphurised EP additives and contains no diethanolamine (DEA), nitrites, phenolic compounds or formaldehyde donors.

TRIM® MicroSol® 515 is suitable for machining all aluminium alloys and is compatible with all steels, yellow metals and cast iron. Extremely hard water tolerant, it reduces carry-off for low total operating cost. Fast wetting gets the fluid to the point of cut quickly and keeps machines very clean. And as the emulsion fully coats work pieces and chips, superior corrosion prevention is assured.

Feedback from lengthy pre-release trials in Europe confirms TRIM® MicroSol® 515 is a very clean running product with excellent multi-metal compatibility. Many of the machine shops that tested the product were able to machine both cast iron and the most sensitive aerospace alloys, without the common problems of ferrous corrosion and aluminium staining. Extremely good bio-resistance and a low foam profile were also reported.
