Rockwell Collins announced it will be offering a new line of High-Definition (HD) displays for business jets. This program rounds out the capabilities of the recently announced VenueTM High-Definition (HD) cabin management system which includes a 10.6" HD display for in-seat and bulkhead applications. The new displays will be available fall 2009.
"We will be dramatically expanding the range of high-definition video displays we provide to business jet customers," said Mike Tiffany, director, Advanced Products for Cabin Systems at Rockwell Collins. "Our new line of displays gives customers a wider range of viewing options and enhanced, theatre-like video quality while in flight."
The new line of HD Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) will be available in a range of sizes from 15" to 32". Final sizes are dependent on display glass availability and specific customer program requirements.
Displays will be equipped to support High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) inputs, as well as analog inputs for applications still relying on standard definition video. They will all be widescreen 16:9 format.
A new 15" display will be available in April 2009, and will debut on the Hawker King Air 350i program. Large displays will be available by fall 2009.
