First flight: Liebherr-Aerospace on board the Airbus A320neo

Liebherr-Aerospace supplies major systems and components in the fields of air conditioning and flight control for the Airbus A320neo, which successfully made its first flight on September 25, 2014. For these products, the company used the vast experience it had gained from its participation in the A320 program.

The air conditioning system, the engine bleed air system and the cooled service air system for the fuel tank inerting system are developed and manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Liebherr's center of excellence for air management systems. Besides, Liebherr's center of excellence for landing gear, flight control and actuation systems, Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany), is responsible for the high-lift system, the high pressure and power transfer unit manifolds as well as the rudder servo control.

The next-generation electro-pneumatic engine bleed air system is specifically optimized for the power plants of the A320neo. It features light-weight, robust and highly reliable components as well as an optimized control architecture. As the high-lift system for the A320 has an excellent in-service track record, it did not need to be modified for the A320neo family. Moreover, Liebherr-Aerospace took advantage of the extensive experience it had gained in the commercial aviation sector – and especially through all Airbus programs – to optimize the operating costs and reliability of its systems for the A320neo.

Liebherr-Aerospace will support its components and systems for the A320neo during the whole product life cycle. With its network of maintenance, repair and overhaul stations and spares distribution across the world, the company's customer services organization guarantees both high-level performance and customer proximity.

Aircraft programs
