07/10/2015

Press releaseIssued by Accudyne Systems, Inc. and published as received — not written by Airframer’s editors.

Accudyne's Automated Stringer Former Machine has been producing stringers for the Airbus A350 for the past four years. The machine has four independent CNC controlled lamination heads that lay uni-tape one ply at a time. The supply material is provided by another machine that converts uni-tape into rolls of 90's, 45's or other desired orientations. The lamination heads have the ability to rotate to accommodate curve or twist in the stringer tool. A proprietary process developed by the customer forms each ply around the tool. The machine produces stringers up to 8 mm (0.315 inches) thick and 22 meters (72 feet) long.
