Bodycote Testing's European Technology Centre secures Nadcap approval for composites testing

The Bodycote Testing's European Technology Centre based in Linköping, Sweden has been approved by Nadcap for the testing of composite materials for the aerospace industry. The laboratory is one of the first in the world to receive approval for this type of testing.

The approval comes after the first major audit in the world covering testing of composite materials was completed at Bodycote Materials Testing AB by Nadcap in August.

Nadcap is the leading worldwide co-operative of major companies supplying the aerospace industry and was designed to ensure a cost-effective consensus approach to special processes and products. All major aerospace OEMs now stipulate that companies which provide a service in "special processes" obtain Nadcap approval.

"Nadcap approval is a milestone for us and it will strengthen our position as a first class provider of testing services to the aerospace industry", comments Lars Åberg, managing director of Bodycote Materials Testing AB.

Bodycote Materials Testing's UK laboratories in Lancaster and Newcastle, as well as in Plze? in The Czech Republic and Centech in Toulouse have achieved Nadcap accreditation while the Bridgwater laboratory has recently been assessed by Nadcap for composites testing.
