The Power and Data Systems (PDS) business unit of AMETEK Aerospace & Defense has been selected by the Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company, to provide the Cargo Door Motor for the Cessna Denali high-performance, single-engine turboprop.

The clean-sheet Cessna Denali is designed to outperform its competition in capability, pilot interface and ownership costs. Engineered to achieve cruise speeds of 285 knots and full fuel payload of 1,100 pounds, the Denali will have a range of 1,600 nautical miles at high speed cruise with one pilot and four passengers and will be able to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago, New York to Miami, or London to Moscow.

The Cargo Door Motor developed by AMETEK supports Cessna's goal of providing the largest aft cargo door in this market. The Cargo Door Motor is a derivative of the AMETEK GM50 Series Cabin Entry Door Motor designed for the Cessna Latitude and Longitude programs. The GM Series eliminates the need for the outdated cable and pully door system.
