Precision Micro achieves aerospace quality management standard

Precision Micro, the UK based precision components manufacturer, is pleased to announce that the Company has been awarded certification to AS 9100, the quality management standard specifically developed for the aviation, space and defence industries.

AS 9100 is a single, common Quality Management System for the whole aerospace industry, satisfying DOD, NASA, and FAA quality requirements It totally encompasses ISO 9001, combining it with additional requirements designed specifically to address Regulatory Compliance and other aerospace sector specific issues.

"I am particularly proud that our extremely talented team was able to implement the system and achieve 100% first time compliance in less than a year, when the average is approaching 18 months.," said Anthony Marrett, Managing Director. "We have always sought to achieve the highest standards of quality. AS 9100 certification demonstrates this commitment throughout the entire organization."

The Company has been a supplier to the aerospace industry for many years and already holds a raft of approvals from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and major international companies including TRW Aeronautical, Goodrich, BAE Systems, Raytheon, Thales and Westland among others.

Precision Micro is thought to be one of the first precision etching companies in the world to achieve this rigorous quality standard. The new credentials automatically upgrade the Company's ISO 9001 approval and certify that Precision Micro continues to enhance customer satisfaction by applying rigorous quality systems in an environment that promotes continual improvement.
