Bombardier Aerospace selects Lufthansa Technik for the development of its Learjet 85 aircraft Cabin Management System

Bombardier Aerospace today announced that Lufthansa Technik has been selected to develop the new all-composite Learjet 85 aircraft's state-of-the-art cabin management system (CMS).

The digital, Ethernet-based CMS and in-flight entertainment system will integrate all passenger entertainment and cabin environment management functions in a single system.

"We are committed to offer our Learjet 85 aircraft customers an unmatched cabin experience backed by leading-edge quality components," said David Coleal, vice-president and general manager, Learjet.

The Learjet 85 aircraft's customized version CMS will feature a high-capacity Ethernet network with a digital amplifier to feed the high-fidelity speaker system and an interface to support the aircraft cabin environment including as lighting and temperature control. The system's open architecture also allows for easy integration of third-party equipment and new applications, such as High Definition features.
