ACRA Control launches ruggedized airborne IP recorders

ACRA CONTROL, a world leader in airborne data acquisition, today announces the release of a range of compact airborne IP recorder products.

Using its experience in designing ruggedized airborne data acquisition systems, ACRA CONTROL has developed a range of stand-alone IP recorders that capture Ethernet packets from onboard networks. These recorders are built using open industry standard setup protocols, storage mediums and file formats. They are compact and reliable with a simplified setup, a streamlined configuration and an operating range of -40 to 85°C. The open Ethernet protocol SNMP can be used for setup, status and control.

Data is stored on a solid-state hard disk cartridge with a SATA interface or on CompactFlash® card formatted as a regular FAT32 volume. The files can be accessed instantly and used without custom software using a PC with standard connectors and off-the-shelf readers. The files are in the popular open source PCAP file format that can be opened, viewed and post-processed using many third party software applications including Wireshark. They are all powered from standard 28V aircraft power and experience no start up delay due to their microprocessor free operation.

The ruggedized recorders are compact and lightweight making them ideal for a variety of airborne applications. The IP recorder family utilizes different options to meet customer specific needs with logging speed available from 64Mbps to 400Mbps and variants with different color, display/mounting and storage medium configurations. Initial customer orders have selected these products for mission recording, usage monitoring and flight test.
