National Centre for Helicopter Engineering named after M.L. Mil and N.I. Kamova (part of the Russian Helicopters holding of the State Corporation Rostec) will accelerate the creation of new helicopters by introducing digital technologies into production. The modernisation of production already at the first stage will reduce the time required for the development of design documentation by 5-10%, as well as reduce the preparation time for production.
The enterprise will carry out a deep modernisation of the workplaces of designers and engineers, as well as the entire IT infrastructure to implement a product lifecycle management (PLM) system and use the latest tools for engineering analysis, system and 3D design.
The digital transformation of production will be supported by Novikombank and the Industrial Development Fund (IDF, VEB.RF Group), with the help of which it was possible to attract more than 1.2 billion rubles. According to the agreements reached, the bank provided the enterprise with a loan in the amount of 741.7 million rubles, as well as a bank guarantee for 602.5 million rubles, which made it possible to receive a concessional loan from the IDF for another 500 million rubles under the Industry Digitalisation program.
"Digital transformation is an urgent need for any modern enterprise, and especially for manufacturers of high-tech products. The aircraft building companies included in Rostec, in particular, Russian Helicopters, understand this and are progressively modernising production sites. Kamov "will be able to reduce the time for the development of design documentation for new helicopters by 5-10%, and the time for technological preparation of production by up to 20%. That is, due to the use of digital technologies, equipment will be created faster," the Rostec aviation cluster said .
In addition, the changes will have a positive effect on labour productivity, allow maintaining the quality of design and technological documentation at a high level, ensure the security of critical information infrastructure and minimise the risks of data loss.
Due to the large-scale implementation of digital technologies, Russian Helicopters expects to reduce the time required to bring new helicopters to the market within 7 years, to achieve an increase in market share and profitability. The work on digitalisation of the industry will allow improving the use of elements of digital twins of products to optimise the design, preparation of production and operation of helicopter technology.
