Universal Avionics to announce FAA Certification of it's new "W" series WAAS-FMS at 2007 NBAA

Universal Avionics will announce the FAA Certification, TSO-C146b, Class Gamma-3, of its WAAS family of FMS systems at the upcoming 60th Annual NBAA Convention in Atlanta, GA.

Paul DeHerrera V.P. Marketing and Support stated, "We are working closely with the FAA including the FAA Administrator's office and expect their attendance at a scheduled NBAA press conference for this exciting announcement". Paul went on to say "Universal's "W" FMS series will enable customers operating aircraft from Pilatus PC-12s to Boeing 747s to take advantage of SBAS (Space Based Augmentation System) WAAS/LPV approach capabilities, along with WAAS accuracies, and reliability."

This marks the very first WAAS-FMS system TSO'd and capable for installation on Part 23 & 25 aircraft, enabling GPS to be used as a primary means of navigation while providing the ability to fly all FAA-published SBAS WAAS/LPV approaches currently in place and those yet to come.

Universal's new "W" series Flight Management Systems are certified to TSO-C146b, Class Gamma-3, the highest possible. This new FMS with integral WAAS-augmented GPS receiver is compatible with WAAS, EGNOS and MSAS and is capable of navigating approaches to ILS-like minima.

Announcements are scheduled at 2 PM at the Georgia World Congress Center on September 25, 2007 in Press Conference Room B208.
