AMETEK Glasseal Products expands global capacity to manufacture hermetic headers, connectors and packages

AMETEK Glasseal Products (GSP) is announcing the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities in Reynosa, Mexico and Penang, Malaysia. For nearly 70 years AMETEK Glasseal Products has provided Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial customers with hermetic interconnect and packaging solutions.

AMETEK GSP is currently ramping production of interconnect products at their facility in Reynosa, Mexico. This facility is AS9100 registered and has recently been upgraded with a state-of-the-art automated plating line, allowing for vertically integrated production of hermetic connectors and headers.

“Expanding our capacity in Reynosa is an important move for Glasseal Products. This facility will increase our operational efficiency and allow us to better serve our customers while maintaining cost effectiveness.” says Liam Shanahan, DVP BU Manager.

In addition, the AMETEK GSP facility in Penang Malaysia is increasing manufacturing capacity to better align with the evolving needs of our global customers. This facility holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications and manufactures a wide range of interconnect and packaging products tailored for customers worldwide.

Both the Reynosa and Penang facilities offer a wide range of products, including hermetic connectors, flat packs, plug-in packages, machined housings, transistor outlines, and end seals. This expanded product offering aims to meet the diverse needs of the markets served by AMETEK GSP.
