Axon' offer a range of connectors ACB1 (AXON' Connector Bus Series 1) to be crimped for MIL-STD-1533 bus harnesses. This triaxial connector, which is suitable for any type of 24 AWG shielded twisted pair cables has been developed to make assembling easier.
A single crimping tool M22520/5.05 with an AXON' die is required to assemble the connector while most of the other connectors to be crimped need two crimping tools, one die and one or two positioning tools. Moreover, the mounting of the ACB1 connector does not require potting.
Other significant advantage: ACB1 connectors and mating halves can integrate with either pin or socket contacts, enabling the connector to be mounted to your needs.
ACB1 connectors are available in both threaded and bayonet versions with 3 and 4 lugs (locking system). These versions are suitable for on-board material as well as for land-based equipment. An elbow version which allows for space saving is also available.
This series of connectors designed for aeronautic applications has gone through test sequences defined by the EN3716 standard such as vibration, climatic tests, contacts resistance etc.
ACB1 connectors are mounted in several helicopters and military fighters in Europe and Japan.
