Ball Aerospace earns third consecutive Boeing Supplier Award for high performance avionics

Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. has been chosen as a Supplier of the Year for avionics performance three years in a row by The Boeing Company. Ball was one of 14 companies and one university to receive a Boeing Supplier of the Year Award for performance in 2014. They were chosen from a group of more than 13,000 active suppliers in 15 categories in nearly 47 countries worldwide.

Ball was honored for exceptional performance and contributions to antennas for the F/A -18 and Harpoon programs. Boeing presented the awards April 15 during a ceremony at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Arlington, Va.The Boeing Supplier of the Year awards are based on statistical measurements of quality, delivery performance, cost, technical expertise, environmental initiatives and the ability to be proactive and respond to changing customer requirements.

"We've proven our innovation and affordability on avionics over the years and this award also recognizes our day-to-day performance as a partner in delivering these critical capabilities to our country."

Ball Aerospace has a record of more than 30 years providing Boeing with on-time delivery, reliable performance and continuous improvement on thousands of high-performance conformal phased array antennas for the Harpoon anti-ship and land-strike missile. Additionally, Ball Aerospace Tactical Solutions' antenna unit has delivered more than 500 F/A -18 units in the last 10 years, with 100 percent on-time delivery and quality. Ball Aerospace has been a five-time recipient of the Boeing Performance Excellence Award, a requirement to be nominated for a Supplier of the Year award.
