Bental to supply its innovative starter generator system to Innocon

Bental Industries, Ltd., Israel's defense industry leading motion and power systems supplier and its preferred source for special military and commercial motion solutions, announces a deal to supply its Starter Generator system G-054 to Innocon for the purpose of integrating the starter generators on Mini Falcon type UAV.

Bental's system, supplied and tested earlier this year, boasts over one hundred successful flight hours. These sophisticated, PMG (Permanent Magnet Generator) brushless DC Starter Generator systems, based on rare earth magnet technology, are slated for integration on the Mini Falcon UAV's gasoline engine. "We are pleased with the recognition the system is receiving following its successful, extensive testing" said Bental's VP Marketing & Sales, Michael Armon. He went on to say that, "Innocon is very happy with our systems and we anticipate that this success will pave the way to future contracts with it".

The G-054 Starter Generator is unique in its ability to start the gasoline engine then, sensing its operation, transform itself into a generator system providing electric power to the UAV's battery and electric components. Characterized by its ability to be activated from the ground, the system is designed to enable remote engine starting by ground operator thereby keeping the operator safely out of danger. The G-054 system is comprised of a Slim Design Outer Rotor Starter/Generator, GCU (Generator Control Unit), and drive Control for starter mode Unit

Unifying two functions into one, Bental's newest line of Starter Generators combines starting the UAV's main engine with the ability to supply electric power to the UAV's battery and electric components. This unified solution results in substantial weight and volume savings which increase the platform's endurance and safety while ensuring ease of operation from the ground.
