Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., a worldwide leader in satellite networking technology, solutions, and services, announced today that the Boeing Company and Gilat have reached a milestone toward offering Gilat's multi-orbit Sidewinder electronically steered antenna (ESA) as a future line-fit solution for in-flight connectivity service providers.

Through IFC integration partners, Boeing will offer a line-fit Sidewinder terminal installation to accelerate the adoption of advanced inflight broadband connectivity. The compact ESA architecture simplifies installation, reduces long-term maintenance, and eliminates the cost and downtime associated with retrofit programmes, enabling earlier entry into service with fully integrated connectivity. With an open, no lock-in model, Sidewinder enables airlines to enhance onboard services and boost operational efficiency while scaling to handle growing connectivity demand.

"Partnering with Boeing for this line-fit programme is a true honour and reflects our focus on bringing advanced connectivity solutions to the aviation market," said Ron Levin, President, Gilat Commercial Division. "Sidewinder stands out as the industry's leading multi-orbit ESA terminal, and we are proud to be certifying it for line-fit for IFC Service Providers."
