The Bucher Group is pleased to announce that it has been selected to become an SFE Galley and Stowage’s supplier for Airbus. Over the last three years, Bucher has developed an innovative G1B Galley, which will be showcased at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg. Starting this year, Bucher will deliver its first highly customized SFE Galleys and Stowage’s for the Airbus A320 family.

The Bucher G1B is engineered to meet the rigorous CS 25.795 standards, ensuring full cockpit intrusion and penetration resistance. It features a reinforced, rugged structural barrier designed to withstand extreme physical loads and forced entry attempts, while advanced energy-absorbing capabilities effectively neutralize kinetic threats, an essential element for cockpit security. The details of the ballistic shield used in the G1B will remain confidential; however, this solution fully complies with the highest applicable safety and certification standards.

Bucher’s focus is exclusively on the development of bespoke, out-of-catalogue Galleys and Stowage’s tailored to the specific branding and operational needs of each airline. The award of projects is determined by Airbus.

The G1B displayed at AIX has been developed primarily for certification purposes. Precise customization details and lead times are to be agreed upon mutually between Airbus and Bucher.

Bucher has already customized the new G1B to meet the requirements of a highly individualized airline cabin concept. The first production units are scheduled for delivery later in 2026, marking the transition from certification to series production.
