Charter Aerospace broadens product lines and market penetration

22/12/2006

Press releaseIssued by Electrofilm Manufacturing Co..

Charter Aerospace Partners Inc. announced today the acquisition of Electrofilm Manufacturing Company (EMC) of Valencia, California. EMC joins Hartzell Propeller Inc., the world's leading supplier of metal and composite propellers to general aviation aircraft, and Industrial Tube Corporation (ITC), a leading supplier of non-metallic aerospace hoses, special shapes and composite ducts in this family owned and managed business. EMC is a leading designer and manufacturer of heated products and systems for aircraft, engines and environmental control systems serving all segments of the aerospace and defense industry since 1949. EMC has system content on virtually all major airframes in commercial service. Mike Piscatella, who has been serving as President of Industrial Tube since its acquisition by Charter Aerospace in 2004, will now also serve as President of EMC. Bruce Coggins, who has been serving as a program director for Industrial Tube, has been named the new General Manager of ITC. "The combination of EMC and ITC capabilities positions our organization to take advantage of commercial aviation market growth while continuing to be a major force in the general aviation field through Hartzell Propeller," said Joe Brown, Co-President of Charter Aerospace. "In the past year we have launched the ASC-II composite propeller, a new low-cost line of propeller governors, Hartzell branded propeller de-ice products all while expanding our Industrial Tube composite operations by almost two-fold, winning major positions in the GA, and commercial aircraft turbine engine markets. We are now solidly entrenched in all sectors of aviation, supporting all levels of the supply chain."
