Elbit Systems Kollsman Enhanced Vision System - Superior Performance selected by Gulfstream Aerospace for the new G500 & G600 aircraft

22/10/2014

Press releaseIssued by Elbit Systems of America Commercial Aviation - Kollsman.

Elbit Systems' wholly owned subsidiary in the U.S, Elbit Systems of America, LLC, announced today during the NBAA 2014 exhibition that its new Kollsman Enhanced Vision System - Superior Performance (EVS-SPTM) was selected by Gulfstream Aerospace for the new G500 and G600 Aircraft.

Enhanced Vision System - Superior Performance (EVS-SPTM) uses cutting-edge, fully digital high resolution infrared sensor technology. EVS-SP allows taxi, takeoff, and landing operations in various weather situations in accordance with all applicable FAA/EASA/ICAO EVS operational and certification regulations.

Building on its EVS leadership and experience with over 1,500 installed systems, Elbit's Kollsman EVS-SP includes new features and improvements such as high resolution and digital video for a crisp, clear image, a single LRU design for easy installation, and lighter total system weight to improve aircraft efficiency.

EVS is a key component to FAA Next Gen and EASA SESAR airspace optimization. The system is applicable for fixed and rotary wing aircraft and is expected to be fully certified in mid-2015.

EVS-SP represents Elbit Systems of America's continued commitment to maintain its EVS leadership through continuous development and certification of industry leading EVS products that raise the bar for performance and operational improvements to aircraft owners and operators.
