Esterline - Souriau once again wins top Airbus award

Esterline Connection Technologies – Souriau received a Strategic Excellence Award from Airbus in the category of electrical cables and components during a ceremony held in Toulouse, France, last 15 January. This is the seventh time since 2005 that the company has received an award from Airbus.

Airbus chose Esterline Connection Technologies – Souriau for three reasons. The first was its high level of industrial maturity, that is, its supply chain performance and its full control over its logistics and the quality of its products.

The company's strong customer focus was the second factor that made it stand out. Its Toulouse-based sales teams continually provide Airbus with more local service, more attention to its needs and more technological support.

The third and final reason was how well Esterline Connection Technologies – Souriau's strategy meshes with that of Airbus in terms of competitiveness, R&D programs, ability to bid in US dollars from low-cost countries and ability for fast, upstream development of new products. Esterline Connection Technologies' recent acquisition of Sunbank is part of this very strategy and will strengthen the group's presence in the USA and allow it to provide its clients with a comprehensive offering of not just connectors, but also accessories and conduits.

The award was given by a representative from Airbus' procurement, quality, supply chain and R&D departments as well as a representative of each assembler. "We are especially honoured to receive this award," says Patrick Kalukin, Key Account/Sales Manager EMEA at Esterline Connection Technologies. "It is the culmination of the daily commitment of the company as a whole and of all our times to best meet the needs of Airbus in terms of total quality, operational excellence, innovation and technological support."
