FAA certifies Pratt & Whitney's PurePower PW1400G-JM engine to power Irkut's MC-21 aircraft

The Federal Aviation Administration has certified Pratt & Whitney's PurePower PW1400G-JM engine to power Irkut's MC-21 aircraft. With this milestone, Pratt & Whitney now has three certified PurePower Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine variants. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. company.

The PurePower engine family has completed more than 58,000 cycles and 35,000 hours of testing.
