FACC delivers 100th shipset of Boeing 787 spoiler

Innovative and lightweight wing components are an important core competency of FACC AG. With the handover of the 100th shipset of wing spoilers for the 787 Dreamliner to its customer Boeing Seattle (BCA – Boeing Commercial Airplanes), the leading Austrian aerospace supplier once more impressively demonstrates its expertise in the production of complex aerostructures.

As a tier-1 supplier to Boeing, FACC is responsible for the manufacture of the 14 spoilers and two flaperon hinge panels of the 787 Dreamliner. The milestone spoilers will be shipped to Boeing Seattle where they will undergo final assembly with the other control surfaces of the wing. Delivery of the 100th shipset of spoilers marks an important milestone in FACC's participation in the 787 program which - after several years of production ramp-up – now is recording a steady increase in production rates. Besides the spoilers, FACC also manufactures the translating sleeves, blocker doors, lower bonded panels as well as various Trent 1000 engine components for the 787.
