Grand Challenge developmental testing partners

NASA has signed Space Act Agreements with the companies listed here in support of either the Grand Challenge Developmental Testing (GC-DT) planned for this year or for work in anticipation of the first Grand Challenge.

These activities are designed to allow U.S. developed aircraft and airspace management service providers to demonstrate their systems with real-world operations in simulated situations NASA also will be testing to gain experience.

The goal is to reduce risk to help ensure the first Grand Challenge is successful and provides the greatest benefit to its participants, the government and the entire Urban Air Mobility (UAM) community.

Selected industry partners provided accepted proposals in one of three categories:

- Developmental Flight Testing: Industry partner will provide a vehicle to fly in the GC-DT and demonstrate key integrated operational UAM scenarios as designed by NASA's UAM Grand Challenge team.

- Developmental Airspace Simulation: Industry partner will test its UAM traffic management services in robust NASA-designed airspace simulations in the GC-DT and demonstrate key integrated operational UAM scenarios.

- Vehicle Provider Information Exchange: Industry partner and NASA will exchange information with the intent to prepare that partner for possible flight activities during the first Grand Challenge at a NASA-provided or other approved test range in 2022.

These industry partners have signed five-year agreements with NASA. They are listed by category of the area they will participate.
