Gulfstream G650 chooses Securaplane HD camera

Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and energy markets announces that Securaplane Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meggitt PLC, has been selected by Gulfstream to provide high definition (HD) cameras for the G650 aircraft. Securaplane and Gulfstream have entered into a multi-million dollar contract for a system that will be standard fit on all future production G650 aircraft and offered as a retrofit for aircraft in service.

The HD camera designs are form-factor identical to the existing Securaplane standard definition cameras installed on all previous G650 aircraft. Securaplane's HD camera system provides the image quality the discerning owner expects and safety information the flight crew needs – all while meeting the rigorous demands of the airborne environment.

Securaplane has been manufacturing camera, security and power products for aviation for over 25 years. Over 2,000 camera units are installed and flying in aircraft ranging from executive fleets to the jetliners operated by the world's largest airlines. These airborne video camera systems are used for situational awareness during taxi, in-flight entertainment for passengers, cabin and external security and flight crew observation of aircraft control surfaces.
