Here comes AFDX with Gigabit!

AIM, the lead industry supplier of advance test & simulation modules and Databus test & analysis software for AFDX/ ARINC664 aircraft data-networks is the first with a product operating at 1Gb/s rates in support of next generation aircraft and helicopters which embrace this new aircraft data-network technology.

The APX-GNET-2/4 is an ultra high performance intelligent PCI (-x) Bus module for Gigabit AFDX/ ARINC664 and standard Ethernet test, simulation and monitoring applications.

APX-GNET modules provide two or four AFDX/ ARINC664/ Ethernet ports configurable as four single ports or two dual redundant channels (AFDX/ ARINC664) each implementing either an optical or an electrical front end via SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable).

A new, low power, dual core processor provides massive onboard processing capabilities for even the most demanding AFDX/ ARINC664 and Ethernet applications. Up to 4GB RAM guarantee high data throughput, large receive buffers and complex transmit scenarios.

AIM's APX-GNET ports can operate concurrently in Traffic Simulator or Receiver/ Monitor modes with support for AFDX/ ARINC664 port related Frame Statistics. Virtual Link (VL) packet capturing and monitoring features are complimented with powerful triggering and filtering capabilities.

An onboard IRIG-B time encoder/ decoder supports time tagging of captured frames with 100ns resolution and allows synchronisation of multiple ports across multiple modules.

APX-GNET modules include a comprehensive Application Programming Interface (API) fully compatible with AIM's family of 10/100Mbit cards for AFDX/ ARINC664.

The powerful and Industry standard PBA.proTM Databus Test & Analysis Tool (for Windows & Linux), the legacy fdXplorer/ ParaView Analyser/ Visualiser Software or EasyLOAD-615A Dataloader Software can be optionally purchased for use with APX-GNET modules.
