Hi-rel connectors from Harwin now available off-the-shelf with 40A power contacts

Harwin, the leading hi-rel connector and SMT board hardware manufacturer, has doubled the current rating of the power contacts available for use in its Datamate Mix-Tek mixed-technology connector series from 20A to 40A. More, up to 12 of the new high current contacts can be used in one Datamate Mix-Tek housing, with devices spec'd for use at high temperatures up to +150degC (with derating).

In order to respond to industry demands for fast turn-around, Harwin has made the most commonly-preferred variations of the Datamate Mix-Tek connector family immediately available as standard, off-the-shelf items. 2-10 pin varieties featuring the new 40A contacts have been added to this stocked profile, which also includes certain popular 3A signal, 20A power and 50Ω coax parts.

The new contacts are plated with 30 microinches (0.76µm) of gold for aerospace applications and to offer high durability. Contacts are compact and operate over a wide temperature range. Comments Product Manager Scott Flower: “The new contacts will extend the use of our Mix-Tek connectors to include any application where a high current is used, particularly at high temperatures.
