Ipeco Holdings Limited, based at Southend Airport, has received a major supplier award at the 2016 Embraer Suppliers Conference recently held at Embraer's facility in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. Ipeco was named Supplier of the Year for development work it has performed in support of the new Embraer E2 family of aircraft. It was selected as the aircraft crew seat supplier for this programme in 2014.

The annual Embraer awards ceremony recognises suppliers' achievements in respect of the innovation, quality and reliability of products and services provided to Embraer. The Company paid tribute to Ipeco's support saying, “Ipeco is a very committed supplier. It is conscientious about ensuring that all programme deliverables are met on schedule and Ipeco has a sense of urgency, resolving problems pro-actively as they arise, to ensure that the needs of this challenging programme are met successfully.”

Steve Johnson, Chief Executive of Ipeco said, “I was delighted to travel to Brazil with my colleagues to accept this award on behalf of all the many dedicated people at Ipeco who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the Embraer E2 programme. Recognition of our achievements is truly appreciated and comes as testament to the engineering skills and talented staff we have here. We are all very privileged to work in the aerospace industry – designing, developing and manufacturing the most incredible products that mean air transportation is both efficient and safe. We are thankful to Embraer for taking the risk of developing such an exciting aircraft family, and for the collaborative manner in which it has worked in partnership with the supply chain. Ipeco anticipates more hard work ahead of a successful entry into service and looks forward to the challenge.”
