14/04/2020

Press releaseIssued by Brookhouse Aerospace (was Kaman Composites Ltd.).

Kaman UK, world-leading supplier to aerospace manufacturers, has announced their first contract with global OEM Raytheon.

Kaman UK, based in Darwen, Lancashire, has now received their first order from Raytheon after a rigorous approvals process completed in 2019. Raytheon UK is a leading technology company focused on defence, aerospace and cyber & intelligence with sites across the UK.

In support of Raytheon's strategy to identify new suppliers offering key capabilities that provide value for money and quick responsiveness, multiple site visits were held resulting in a multi-disciplined in-depth capability and capacity assessment. Kaman were issued with their Raytheon vendor code and their first RFQ at the beginning of 2020.

James Scholfield, Kaman UK's Business Development Director said: “We are very pleased to now be an approved Raytheon supplier. As a UK company with the capability to supply composites and metallic parts and higher level assemblies, complimented with the ability to apply treatments to metallic components as well as the supply of kits all under one roof, this makes us very attractive to major OEMs such as Raytheon and also Tier One companies."

Kaman UK have made a long-term investment in its in-house metallic and composites capabilities along with a £1million investment in a chemical treatment line that achieved NADCAP approval status last year. This is to ensure they can offer a full service 'one-stop-shop'.

Amanda Burns at Raytheon said: “We take great care to ensure that our preferred suppliers are able to deliver products to the very highest quality whilst also meeting our expectations on delivery time. The capabilities that Kaman offers is very attractive to Raytheon and we look forward to a positive relationship with this fine engineering company.”

Kaman UK has a 70-year history of technical breakthroughs and innovation which global aerospace clients rely on to deliver high performance component parts and assemblies into their supply chain.
