LIG Nex1 and Shield AI sign MOU for cooperation in developing manned and unmanned complex solutions

LIG Nex1 (CEO Shin Ik-hyun) and Shield AI, a leading tech company in the AI-based autonomous navigation field, have joined forces to enhance their core solution development capabilities optimized for future battlefields, such as manned and unmanned complex and autonomous operation systems.

On the 28th, LIG ​​Nex1 signed a 'comprehensive business agreement for joint solution development specialized for future battlefields' with Shield AI at the International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 2025) being held at BEXCO in Busan.

Key figures attending the event that day, including LIG Nex1 CEO Shin Ik-hyun and Shield AI co-founder and CEO Brandon Tseng, were present.

Through this business agreement, the two companies will review and promote various cooperation plans, including:

- Integration of Shield AI’s unmanned platform, weapon systems, sensors, and LIG Nex1’s mission equipment;

- Development of an autonomous operation system optimized for manned and unmanned complex mission environments; and,

- Joint development of global markets.

As weapon systems based on superintelligence, superconnectivity, and superfusion centered around the Manned and Unmanned Complex System (MUM-T) are rapidly becoming more advanced and sophisticated, development of operational solutions to support this and securing platform integration capabilities are emerging as important tasks in the defense sector.

LIG Nex1 plans to lead R&D of future weapon systems to lead the evolving battlefield environment by grafting Shield AI’s proven AI platform onto its technological prowess in the fields of unmanned systems, guided weapons, and surveillance and reconnaissance.
