Lynx selected by Bell to power the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA)

Lynx, the leader in delivering solutions for the Mission Critical Edge, announced today that its LYNX MOSA.ic operating environment has been selected by Bell Textron Inc., a Textron company, to support the U.S. Army's Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA).

The LYNX MOSA.ic software framework offers a standard-based modular approach to integrating multi-core safety-critical and security-critical applications. This design allows users to leverage standards and maximize current and future reuse of software, development tools, integration tools and the opportunity to minimize system recertification. This framework provides Bell and its partners the flexibility and agility needed to meet the Army's Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) objectives.

LYNX MOSA.ic is a multicore operating environment for building robust, deterministic and predictable systems for the aerospace and defense sector. Additionally, it includes modularity and interoperability properties that allow a wide variety of software components of different programming languages, runtime environments and abstraction layers to be reintegrated into a cohesive system.

Bell's selection of LYNX MOSA.ic as the operating system (OS) provider for both Arm-based system and Intel-based systems on the same aircraft speaks to the system and platform-wide benefits of a common and modular OS.
