Marshall Slingsby receives multi-million pound investment to accelerate growth and meet increasing industry demands for advanced composites

Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites has received an investment in the order of £5m from the Marshall Group to further enhance and develop the capabilities within the business, to meet growing demands for advanced composite structures in the aerospace and defence sectors. The investment will enable the procurement of high value manufacturing and test equipment and related design tools. Furthermore, development and training in emerging processing techniques is planned to support a wide range of composite engineered solutions. Coupled with this investment, there will also be significant upgrade and refurbishment of the company's manufacturing facility at Kirkbymoorside, North Yorks.

Already enjoying healthy year-on-year growth, the investment in new plant, equipment, process development and training is expected to result in Marshall Slingsby achieving a 50% increase in turnover by 2016.

The investment will initially provide Marshall Slingsby with the latest in Design for Manufacture (DFM) software, CNC machining and grinding equipment, ply laser projection, automated component measuring, Non-Destructive Test equipment (NDT) and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM).
