09/07/2012

Press releaseIssued by MECAER Aviation Group.

Italy based Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG) has capitalized on its experience in building helicopter, business and general aviation landing gears to become a key supplier to industry leader, Bell Helicopter Textron of the complete landing gear system for the new "Super Medium" Bell 525 "Relentless" helicopter.

With this award, MAG is now providing landing gears to Bell Helicopter Textron for both the Bell 525 "Relentless" and 429 programs.

In designing the Bell 525 landing gear, MAG will be responsible for engineering, system integration and the production of a complete 'bolt-on' system, comprising nose and main gears, electro-mechanical actuation, braking system, wheels, brakes, tires and landing gear control panel.

MAG is currently the landing system solution supplier to several major rotary and fixed wing OEM's, including AgustaWestland, Bell Helicopter Textron, Diamond Aircraft, Eclipse Aerospace and Turkish Aerospace Industries.

MAG's co-general manager, Armando Sassoli, said, "This is the second consecutive program win with Bell Helicopter for which MAG is awarded a wheeled landing gear system. It is a very important step in MAG's quest to become the world's leading landing systems integrator in the helicopter market. Today's arena is very competitive and we can only be extremely proud to make such an announcement."

"The strengthening of our relation with Bell Helicopter is the result of two great teams that work very well together. We recognize the importance of a solid landing gear design, and strive to meet the high quality demands of our customers with every gear we produce," said MAG's director of landing systems, Giorgio Cozzolino. "Our objective is to deliver a state-of-art landing system with particular attention to environmental, technological and operational efficiencies."
