Metronor AS selected to provide Advanced Boresight System solution for Korea Aerospace Industries new TA-50 tactical trainer / light attack aircraft

Metronor AS has been awarded the contract to develop the boresight system solution for Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) new TA-50 tactical trainer / light attack aircraft. The TA-50 is externally similar to the T-50 advanced jet trainer, but carries additional systems like an advanced radar, under wing hard points and wing-root rotary cannon for tactical training and attack duties.

Says Errol Henriksen, VP Military Systems at Metronor: "Winning this latest contract showcases the modularity of the Harmolign boresight system. As we have already demonstrated on several versions of the BAE Systems Hawk, adapting Harmolign for a new aircraft model is simple and cost-efficient and ensures the boresight system can evolve with the aircraft. This is important with the growing service lives of modern aircraft platforms."

Metronor's Harmolign boresight systems have been delivered to BAE Systems Hawk advanced jet trainer, the SAAB Gripen fighter, Korea Aerospace Industries T-50 advanced jet trainer, Lockheed-Martin F-16 fighter, Korea Aerospace Industries Surion helicopter and the Eurofighter simulator (ASTA).
