Microtecnica strengthens Korean presence with Hanwha alliance

30/07/2010

Press releaseIssued by Safran Electronics & Defense (was Collins Aerospace, Actuation Systems).

Microtecnica, the aerospace equipment specialist, has announced a strategic alliance with Korean aerospace manufacturer Hanwha Corporation.

The agreement will see Microtecnica and Hanwha collaborating on Korean aerospace programmes as preferred partners for the design, development and manufacture of new equipment and systems, strengthening the actuation specialist's presence in the Korean market.

Most recently Microtecnica worked with Hanwha to produce a hydraulic system power control unit for the Korean Utility Helicopter (KUH) programme. In addition, it is expected Microtecnica and Hanwha will be collaborating on future business to provide flight control systems to international customers.

Alan Bean, Chief Executive of Microtecnica, said: "Hanwha is Korea's leading aerospace manufacturer with ambitions to grow significantly outside of its domestic market, while Microtecnica is one of the world's largest actuation companies seeking to expand our presence in the Korean market. It's an ideal partnership which will help strengthen our position as a global player, bring shared efficiencies and allow both of us access to a wider industry market."

Hanwha Aerospace, a division of Hanwha Corporation, is one of Korea's leading aerospace manufacturers. Based in Seoul, South Korea, the company specialises in the manufacture of hydraulic systems, flight control actuators and fuel systems for aircraft, launch vehicles and guided weapons.
