To help engineers meet the demands of modern aerospace and defence programmes, Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK) has announced its next-generation data acquisition (DAQ) system, Fusion MX.

Purpose-built for full-scale structural and fatigue durability testing, Fusion MX provides the continuity and data confidence necessary for complex, multiyear test campaigns.

Modern aerospace development requires testing at a massive scale, which often involves thousands of channels and multi-team collaboration across different locations. Fusion MX addresses these common industry challenges, such as limitations in channel count, data traceability risks and slow test cycles that can delay market entry. The system has been engineered to provide complete data traceability and operational control, even with extremely large channel counts.

It streamlines testing and utilises automated parametrisation, which significantly reduce test cycle times. And the system ensures complete data traceability through automated setup features and proven strain gauge amplifier technology.

Designed for maximum uptime and longevity, it reduces risk in multiyear test programmes and an openDAQ protocol allows for seamless integration with existing and third-party systems, ensuring the user has flexibility and reduces the ownership costs.

The system's compact, 1U form factor maximises channel density, supporting 48 channels for strain gauges and 40 channels for thermocouples per blade. Its flexible architecture allows for deployment as a standalone unit or integration into large, full-rack systems.

Together with Advantage Connect data acquisition software, users can achieve a flexible and efficient total system with automated setup, streamlined testing and analysis, reliable results and complete data traceability.

Fusion MX and Advantage Connect are coming later in 2026.
