OTEGO: the new name for growth through innovation

11/02/2021

Press releaseIssued by Otego (formerly Dickson-PTL).

The global leader in rubber, heat protection fabrics and industrial machinery has a new name to accompany its new strategy of growth through innovation: OTEGO.

Innovation is at the heart of many a manufacturer's growth strategy. Yet few place it quite so central to their identity as OTEGO. A global leader in technical textiles, OTEGO already generates 20% of its revenue from innovation and the commercialization of the products it develops.

Now, it aims to go further. With a commitment to world-class solutions development and a drive for international expansion built on the expertise of its people, OTEGO's mission is clear: to apply its innovation to protecting people and their environment.

Innovating for the customer - and the customers' customer

In more than 70 years of manufacturing innovation, OTEGO has built a powerful reputation with more than 3,000 customers on 5 continents and in 110 countries. It is a reputation built not just on delivering what the customer wants, but on what the customers' customer wants. "If the customer is king, the customer of the customer is an opera," explains Thierry Mosa, President of OTEGO. This customer focus is helping to steer the company's direction as it looks to the year ahead.

As electric vehicles edge closer to the tipping point that will see them become the dominant automotive force, Otego is designing new tyre liners to help extend EVC range. New aluminized flame-retardant fabrics meet a wide range of international firefighting standards and help protect firefighter safety more effectively than ever before.

"The company's mission is to improve the protection of people and machines in all the sectors in which we operate," says Thierry Mosa. "Beyond our unique expertise and know-how in the design and production of technical textiles, our teams have a rare knowledge and understanding of the challenges of our partners". "We help our customers innovate and perfect their processes."

Partners in delivering value

OTEGO has long supported its customers in the creation of value. As the Company President explains, "While our solutions are based on our excellent knowledge and understanding of our markets, they are also the result of ongoing exchanges with our customers. The solutions we develop are direct responses to their challenges."

OTEGO is also committed to creating value responsibly. As such, the company, which is a signatory to the Global Charter "Responsible Care" and has joined the United Nations Global Compact, has made strong commitments in sustainable development, notably by working with its customers to reduce energy consumption and limit waste. The company, which just been awarded the "Ecovadis Sustainability Gold" label, has also pledged to limit its own environmental impacts and is increasing its decarbonisation projects.
