Phyre Technologies, Inc. GOBIGGS CTPD program successfully completes prototype design phase

Today Phyre Technologies, Inc. announced that it had successfully completed the Design Phase as part of its Combat Tempered Platform Demonstration (CTPD) program. Phyre is contracted by Sikorsky Aircraft, a unit of United Technologies Corporation to build and demonstrate a Green On-Board Inert Gas Generating System (GOBIGGSTM) system for the UH-60 BLACK HAWK.

The design phase, which was completed on November 20th, demonstrated that the design of GOBIGGSTM meets system requirements and establishes the basis for proceeding with component purchase, fabrication and assembly. Phyre remains ahead of schedule to test GOBIGGSTM at Army Research Lab in spring 2014.

Phyre's GOBIGGSTM is an environmentally friendly, catalytically based fuel tank inerting system designed to significantly reduce fuel tank vulnerability to explosion and thereby increase survivability of the UH-60 in forward operations.
