Hamilton Sundstrand has selected Meggitt to be one of the primary sensor suppliers for Pratt & Whitney's PurePower® "Gear TurboFan" engine series: the PW1217G for Mitsubishi's MRJ and the PW1524G for Bombardier's CSeries. The package, which includes several oil monitoring, oil level, fuel flow, temperature, speed and vibration sensors, will play a key role in Hamilton Sundstrand's control suite supporting the performance and reliability of Pratt & Whitney's PurePower® engines.
Richard Greaves, President of Meggitt Sensing Systems commented: "This contract is significant in terms of what our organisation can deliver as well as what our products can do.
"By bringing together several Meggitt Sensing Systems' centres of excellence, we are providing a cost-effective integrated solution for Hamilton Sundstrand.
"We are especially proud to be associated with Pratt & Whitney's game changing Gear TurboFan engine technology, which aims to reduce its environmental impact by lowering noise, emissions and fuel consumption."
