Quest receives Chilean certification for Kodiak

Quest Aircraft Company is pleased to announce that it has received type certification for the Kodiak from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Chile, adding to the aircraft's accreditations in Latin America.

"We are excited that the Kodiak has achieved certification in another Latin American country," said John Hunt, Vice President of Sales for North, South and Central America. “We continue to see interest in the aircraft from a variety of market segments in this region of the world, and this certification will help our marketing efforts in Chile and the surrounding countries."

Earlier this year, Quest named Santiago, Chile-based Aeroservicio as its authorized Kodiak sales representative for Chile. "Aeroservicio's strong relationships with customers have definitely strengthened Quest's presence in the region," added Hunt. "Having Chilean certification will enhance their sales efforts."

The additional benefit of Chilean certification will certainly increase the Kodiak's appeal to the market here."

The Kodiak's rugged aluminum construction offers proven turbine reliability with the Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine engine. It has the ability to land and take off from unimproved surfaces and is capable of working off floats without structural upgrades. The Kodiak can take off in under 1,000 feet at full gross takeoff weight of 7,255 lbs and climb at over 1,300 feet per minute.

Kodiaks are in operation around the globe. Key market segments include personal use, business/corporate use, Part 135 operations, government and humanitarian organizations. The Kodiak has received 23 certifications covering 33 countries, with several additional certifications imminent.
