Press releaseIssued by Sanmina - SCI Technology.

Sanmina-SCI Corporation (NASDAQ:SANM) , a leading global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company, today announced that its Shenzhen, China, facility has been awarded the AS9100 Aerospace Standard certification. This certification signifies that its enclosure facility in Shenzhen complies with all requirements of the AS9100 quality management system. The AS9100 is the aerospace industry's quality system standard developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group for quality assurance in design, New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing and servicing.

"Earning the AS9100 certification represents a significant milestone for our Shenzhen, China operations, and reinforces Sanmina-SCI's leadership position within the defense and aerospace market segment," said Tom Clawson, President of Mechanical Systems & Services for Sanmina-SCI. "Today more aerospace companies are partnering with Sanmina-SCI to manage non-core aspects of their operations, such as design, manufacturing, supply chain management and logistics. This level of certification ensures we offer our aerospace customers the highest level service in the Greater China region."

"Our Shenzhen Enclosure facility is the first Sanmina-SCI manufacturing site in the Greater China region to receive AS9100 certification for precision machined components, enclosures, and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for the aerospace industry," stated PK Chan, Executive Vice President of Greater China Operations, Sanmina-SCI. "I am very proud of our employees who worked diligently to earn the certification."

AS9100 standard is a set of requirements for quality management systems that include all of the elements of ISO 9001:2000 and expanded to address international aerospace requirements that are now approved by major aerospace companies around the world. The intent of the AS9100 is to deliver significant improvements in quality, while reducing cost throughout the supply chain in the aerospace industry.
