SHD Composites launches CEM101, a new cyanate ester with enhanced service temperature and dielectric performance

05/08/2026

Press releaseIssued by SHD Composite Materials Ltd.

SHD Composites today announces the launch of CEM101, a new cyanate ester prepreg with improved glass transition temperature, specifically engineered for applications requiring minimal dielectric constant and loss tangent. Combining high service temperature with enhanced dielectric properties and structural strength, CEM101 delivers the desired characteristics for demanding applications in aerospace, space, defence and motorsport.

Building on SHD's proven expertise in developing leading cyanate ester prepregs, the new system delivers a radio frequency material with inherently flame-retardant resin chemistry, enhanced service temperature and dielectric performance. In addition, CEM101 offers excellent handling properties and a controlled flow during processing.

"CEM101 is the latest innovation from our thriving R&D team," said Dr. Alix Sauget, R&D Director at SHD Composites. "With enhanced service temperature and dielectric performance, CEM101 delivers a combination of characteristics with the consistency and reliability that defines SHD materials."

The new cyanate ester technology from SHD Composites brings together performance with processability, giving manufacturers in aerospace, space, defence and motorsport an easy-to-use advanced material solution.

This latest innovation follows the recent news of the company's expansion to a new 60,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Mooresville, North Carolina to quadruple domestic production capacity in North America.
