Sigma wins £25m contract with Rolls-Royce

02/04/2014

Press releaseIssued by Sigma Precision Components UK.

A Hinckley aerospace manufacturer is celebrating after securing a contract worth £25 million over 10 years to become the sole supplier of key aero-engine components to Rolls-Royce.

Sigma Components, which is based in Dodwells Road Industrial Estate, will provide a variety of pipe assemblies that transport fluids and air around the engine for the programme.

Mark Johnson, founder of Sigma Components and Managing Director of Avingtrans' aerospace division, said: “We're delighted to have secured this contract, which recognises the production expertise and strong delivery record we have developed in this area over recent years.

“The contract strengthens our position as a trusted supplier to Rolls-Royce and means we are now well placed to invest further in the development of our manufacturing facilities in both Hinckley and Chengdu, China.”

The contract continues Sigma's successful start to 2014. The company forms Avingtrans' aerospace divison and was recognized as the key driver behind a 90% increase in revenues at its parent company when half-year results were released earlier this year.
