Snecma boosts engine testing abilities

04/11/2013

Press releaseIssued by HBK - Hottinger Bruel & Kjaer UK.

Aerospace propulsion systems expert, Snecma has enhanced its engine testing capabilities with sub-miniature charge accelerometers.

Supplied by Brüel & Kjær, the piezoelectric charge Accelerometers are utilised for testing Snecma's new engines, LEAP and Silvercrest.

These transducers offer low noise, high frequency range and precise sensitivity. They are easily mounted onto engines, for measuring and analysing the effects of shock and vibration. They are highly robust and have low sensitivity to environmental influences, such as shocks, transverse vibrations and temperature fluctuations.

The accelerometers can also withstand extremely high temperatures, making them ideal for prolonged use on hot engines.
