Souriau introduces new range of 38999 Series III connectors with integrated backshell

20/07/2016

Press releaseIssued by Souriau-Sunbank Connection Technologies.

Esterline Connection Technologies (SOURIAU - SUNBANK) revolutionizes the market with a new all-in-one range of 38999 Series III connectors with integrated backshell. This unique range offers flexibility, versatility and higher performance, and has been available for purchase via SOURIAU's international distribution network since early 2016.

All-in-one 38999 connectors

Souriau (a world leader in the design and manufacture of harsh-environment interconnect solutions) and Sunbank (a world leader in the design and manufacture of backshells) have combined their skills and expertise to create this all-new 38999 connector with an integrated backshell. This all-in-one interconnect solution answers the growing need in the aviation and defense industries for smaller, lighter components.

Higher connector performance

Smaller and lighter than a standard connector with backshell, the 38999 Series III connector with integrated backshell provides superior electrical continuity. The integrated backshell offers higher signal protection due to the reduced number of interfaces, while the entire integrated connector decreases costs and simplifies logistics.

Versatility and flexibility

The mating interface of the 38999 Series III connector fully complies with MIL-DTL-38999 SIII and EN 3645, meaning that it can be used in place of standard plugs. It is compatible with VG 95343 and MIL-I-81765 accessories and is available in over 90 layouts. The rear interface features all the technical advantages needed to meet customer requirements — a milling pattern that accommodates the broadest range of clamps/ground braid connections and an optimized groove for heat-shrink sleeves or overmolding needs.
