Southwestern Laser, a laser machining contract manufacturer in Tucson, Ariz., recently gained NADCAP certification. The company's NADCAP certification is for non-traditional machining. Southwestern Laser is AS9100 Rev B certified in conformance with ISO 9001:2000. Southwestern Laser was aquired by LAI International in 1995. LAI International operates manufacturing facilities nationwide, including LAI East, Westminster, Md.; LAI Midwest, Minneapolis, Minn.; and LAI Southwest, Phoenix. LAI is incorporated in Minnesota, and corporate headquarters are based in Phoenix. All LAI facilities are certified to AS9100 Rev B in conformance with ISO 9001:2000. Southwestern Laser started operations in Tucson, Ariz., in 1999. The company performs precision laser machining, including five-axis processing, laser drilling, laser cutting and laser welding for aerospace, medical, power generation and other industries. LAI International specializes in precision waterjet processing and laser machining to manufacture complete components for aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical, power generation and other industrial manufacturing industries. The company provides High-Definition waterjet MachiningTM, and precision waterjet cutting and drilling. LAI also offers laser services, including high-speed cutting, small-hole drilling, precision welding, permanent marking and localized heat-treating.
