SSM and TAI signs Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic UAV

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SSM and TAI for Strategic UAV will be signed on 23 May 2007, the second day of the 8th International Defense Industry Fair IDEF 2007 between 11:00-11:30 hours at TAI's stand.

With the MoU, TAI will be assigned as the prime contractor for the Strategic UAV System, which will be developed to meet the requirements of the Turkish Air Force Command. Both the foreign partnerships and local design, development and production activities of the Strategic UAV Systems will be realized under TAI's prime contractorship.

Within the framework of the MoU, preliminary activities for design and development of an upper/higher class turboprop aerial vehicle than the indigenous UAV systems which are being developed especially in terms of payload, and its ground systems, are planned to be initiated in the near future.
