Tactair Fluid Controls Inc. has been selected by General Atomics to provide select components for wheel brake control on the Spaceship Company's WhiteKnightTwo (WK2) launch vehicle for the SpaceShipTwo (SS2).
Specifically, Tactair will be providing brake metering valves and hydraulic accumulators.
Tactair is an ISO 9001-2000/AS-9100 certified designer and manufacturer of hydraulic controls for the aerospace industry, located in Liverpool, New York, USA.
General Atomics is a leading manufacturer of unmanned aircraft. General Atomics is under contract to Scaled Composites LLC to provide the wheels, brakes, and brake control system for the WK2 prototype aircraft. SpaceShipTwo is a suborbital spaceplane currently under development by The Spaceship Company, a joint venture between Scaled Composites and Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group.
