Taiwan's composites industry goes global: AIDC, UHT Unitech Company, and Syensqo form strategic alliance

07/03/2025

Press releaseIssued by Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC).

AIDC's business expansion never stops. This week, the Company traveled to Paris to participate in the JEC World 2025—one of the largest composite exhibitions in the world. There, AIDC formed a strategic alliance with Taiwan-based UHT Unitech Company and Belgium-based Syensqo, marking a significant step for Taiwan’s composites industry onto the global stage.

AIDC has been deeply rooted in the composites field for many years, operating the Taiwan Advanced Composite Center (TACC), which specializes in manufacturing high-end aerospace composite components. In recent years, the company has actively invested in the development of thermoplastic composites, intended for use in next-generation aircraft structures. UHT Unitech Company and Syensqo complement this effort by supplying high-quality thermoplastic composite sheets, raw thermoplastic materials, process development, and technical resources.

Leveraging their respective strengths, the three parties will begin by building key technologies and databases, and then collaborate on the design, manufacturing, and application of thermoplastic composite components. They will also take advantage of localized supply chains to shorten lead times for materials and raw components, enabling the production of high-quality, high-volume aerospace-grade products. This alliance aims to open the door to the international thermoplastics market, with aspirations to become a leading global supplier of drone materials.

The signing ceremony took place on March 4 in Hall 5 (Taiwan Pavilion). This partnership signals the beginning of international collaboration in design, processing, and technical exchange starting this year.
